A Modern Union at The Mint, for Andrew and Marcus
In the heart of Sydney, where sandstone holds centuries of stories, Andrew and Marcus chose to begin their own.
The mint offered something rare: for Andrew and Marcus, a wedding setting that felt both grounded in history and quietly contemporary.
The afternoon unfolded in the sandstone courtyard, a space defined by warm textures and softened by light. Beneath the iconic arches, guests gathered on the raised lawn as the city hummed just beyond the walls—present, but distant.
Andrew and Marcus stood together in a setting that required very little embellishment.
The floral direction drew quietly from the richness of Dutch Masters paintings—moody, layered, and deeply textural. Arrangements were composed of hydrangeas and garden roses in full, generous forms, offset by the airy movement of smokebush and the sculptural detail of pomegranate. The palette leaned into depth and contrast, allowing each element to feel both abundant and intentional.
Displayed in a series of urns and elevated on plinths borrowed from Andrew’s mother, the installations carried a sense of history that mirrored the setting itself. There was something deeply personal in that gesture—the florals not only styled for the space, but anchored in family.
Positioned throughout the courtyard, each arrangement felt like a still life brought gently into three dimensions: romantic, painterly, and quietly dramatic against the sandstone backdrop.
